A Freelance Angling/Photo Journalist with over 34-years experience and with over 3300 articles and features published in the UK, and worldwide. Features cover instructional, travel, adventure and news.

Mike has worked and fished in 21 different countries.

Has 26-years experience as a Fishing Tackle Product Design Consultant. For the past 10-years, Mike has worked initially with Shakespeare UK, then with Pure Fishing (UK) Ltd contributing to the PENN, Shakespeare, ABU and GREYS brands. Previously with Fox International (UK) Ltd, Leeda (UK) Ltd, Mustad Hooks, and Shakespeare (UK) Ltd progressing initial ideas through development and field testing to final production.

Experienced in marketing copy compilation for product and tourism promotions in magazines, catalogues, brochures and the Internet.

Compiled angling tourism survey commissions in the Orkney Isles, Ireland, Iceland and the UK assessing specific areas for their sea angling potential, species viability, charter boat suitability, accommodation and infrastructure necessary for successful angling tourism.

Mike has been a presenter and guest on BBC, SKY and independent TV programmes and angling series. He was a co-presenter and weekly contributor on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Fish on 5 for 4-years. Also a features contributor to the Dirty Tackle radio programme, also on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Solely wrote and compiled the TV Channel 4 Teletext Sea Angling Column for 7-years.

Has 28-years experience contributing to angling and non angling related conservation issues, plus experience in tag and release projects for sharks, common skate, bass, tope and rays to establish growth, health and migratory patterns.
